Rock legend—and renowned ladies’ man—Gene Simmons isn’t shy about his love of the ladies. He proudly boasts more than 4,800 sexual encounters in his lifetime. So it would seem that Simmons is perfectly suited to document the ‘world’s oldest profession.’ As he puts it, “In good times and in bad times ladies of the night will always do well.”

Simmons says he doesn’t use prostitutes himself, but finds the subject fascinating. So much so, that he researched and wrote a new book devoted to the traditionally taboo topic.

“In these times of rampant hypocrisy, there is something refreshing, genuine and almost admirable about a prostitute in that both parties know exactly what they are getting… Prostitution is an idea that is as old as the world... Its time has come again.”
