This Attorney and Former
Even though we would like to believe otherwise, racial tension in America still exists some 40 years after the birth of civil rights. It surfaces in the reactions
to the words of people like Don Imus and even Geraldine Ferraro, notes attorney and former urban planner David Wilens, but the biggest cause of all, he says, is the U.S. government.

Author of the new book BLIGHT IDEAS: How Statism is Destroying America’s Cities, Wilens will discuss:

• How blacks and whites continue to pay for what the government did 30, 40 and 50 years ago.

• Why the FHA is responsible for the most blighted parts of America’s cities and why it still could be a danger.

• Why he says “government programs formulated by corrupt activists and sold to a dumbed-down populace have caused disastrous consequences for American cities and society.”

• Why asking the government to do something about racism is like asking the fox to guard the chicken coop.

CREDENTIALS: Attorney David Wilens formerly worked as an urban planner for local governments in Alabama and Pennsylvania and is presently a real estate attorney. He holds a master’s degree in city planning and a bachelor’s degree in architecture. Wilens spent 25 years studying the causes of urban decay and how they might be remedied.
