Former FBI agents Kathleen Puckett and Terry Turchie have witnessed the war on terror from the inside, and they don’t like what they’ve seen. From war profiteering to torture and more, they view the war on terror as cover for power grabbing politicians.
After the attacks of 9/11, politicians of both parties saw opportunities for personal and ideological gains. Rather than do what was best for the nation, our government appealed to fear and has repeatedly called up the specter of the war on terror to push through programs and policies it would have been unable to institute otherwise. The government continues to stonewall attempts to understand what it’s doing around the world in our name.
Turchie and Puckett insist the people have the right to know what their government is up to and should know:
• The CIA relationships that enabled Blackwater to receive billions of dollars in “no bid” contracts.
• The secret surveillance programs that have caused unnecessary divisiveness and confusion in the global war on terror.
• How the FBI’s traditional terror fighting role is being marginalized in favor of shadowy, unaccountable organizations and political cronyism.
• How torture and CIA “black sites” are ensuring a new generation of jihadists and destroying America’s moral credibility.
