Mainline church attendance is down all across America. There are very vocal people out there who want you to believe that liberal thinking is tearing at the fabric of our churches. Rev. Steven Martin says that’s not the case. He says the real reason church attendance is on the wane has more to do with groups like the Institute on Religion and Democracy.
Rev. Martin says since its beginning in 1982, the Institute on Religion and Democracy (IRD) has continuously undermined mainline Protestant denominations by attacking the character of church leaders.
He says the IRD, funded by some of the world’s most powerful foundations, undermines the church by fueling controversy amongst its members.
Rev. Martin can discuss:
• How to recognize “steeplejacking” in your own church.
• Ways to reunite your church if a schism has occurred.
• How to approach your church leaders if you
are unhappy.
